Petra, who has made a life for herself in the big city has a crush on her office co-worker Igor and is trying hard to start a meaningful relationship. Her mother’s visit from a provincial town in the south not only jeopardizes her efforts, but adds to the already palpable disconnect.
24 hours in the life of Petra: the holiday season brings Petra’s mother from a small town to visit her in the city. Petra, eager to shed her country-girl image, focuses on impressing a coworker she fancies, pushing her mother aside. But, faced with the city’s harsh realities, she starts to see how her roots have shaped her in ways she can't ignore.

Ana Jakimska
Ana Jakimska is a short film writer-director based between London and her hometown, Skopje.
Her inaugural venture in filmmaking, the Macedonian folklore-inspired short film The Children Will Come, competed for the prestigious Golden Goblet Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2017 and received wide international acclaim through official selections and accolades at film festivals. In 2018, Ana wrote the script for a feature-length film titled Midnight Train, which won multiple pitching competitions and received development funding. In 2022, Ana wrote and directed the short fiction film Blue Hour.
Ana holds a master's degree in Directing Fiction from Goldsmiths, University of London. Complementary to her academic pursuits in film in both the UK and Macedonia, are her three short student films: No Ghosts in Strange Lands, Gaida, and Neon Hearts.
Ana is a recipient of the competitive Chevening scholarship, awarded by the UK government's Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) to future leaders and decision-makers globally. She is also an alumna of prestigious film programmes, including Talents Sarajevo, the MIDPOINT Institute and First Films First Young Director's Academy.
Together with her friend and schoolmate Branko Kosteski, in 2018 Ana co-founded Suteren Studio, a production company based in Skopje, Macedonia. As Head of Production and Development, Ana leads the team in developing and executing compelling narratives for commercial purposes, as well as crafting impactful creative content for political and civil campaigns.
